The Voice Live Final #1 Recap

Last night on the first Live Final for The Voice Season 7, we said goodbye to our first finalist. Leaving the competition was Luke Antony from Team Boy George, with Team Kelly’s Brock Ashby surviving the bottom two sing-off after a rousing rendition of ‘Sex on Fire’ by Kings of Leon.

The night kicked off with AP D’Antonio being crowned this year’s lucky Wild Card as voted by the fans to round out the Top 13, thus ousting Mikayla Jade, Nathan Brake and Townsville trio Homegrown from the competition. This gives Team Kelly an advantage with four artists continuing in the Live Finals.

All 13 artists then performed on last night’s show, with a huge number of votes coming in via The Voice Australia app for the first Live Show, as fans got behind their favourite artists.

The remaining 12 Artists will now prepare to perform in the second Live Final on Sunday, May 27 at 7:00 PM on Nine and 9Now, with special musical guests 5 Seconds of Summer.

Hailed as the ‘biggest new rock act in the world’ by Rolling Stone, 5SOS is the only band in history to see its first two full-length studio albums enter the Billboard 200 at No. 1. They return home to Australia to perform their new #1 smash single ‘Youngblood’ next Sunday.

The remaining teams and Top Twelve are as follows:

TEAM DELTA
Ben Clark
Jacinta Gulisano
Trent Bell

TEAM GEORGE
Chang Po Ching
Sheldon Riley

TEAM KELLY
Bella Paige
Brock Ashby
Sam Perry
AP D’Antonio

TEAM JOE

Aydan Calafiore
Ben Sekali
Sally Skelton

Artist performances are available now via your favourite music streaming service, and all voting this year is conducted via the free The Voice Australia app on iOS and Android.

The artist who is crowned the winner of The Voice 2018 will receive the grand prize of a recording contract with Universal Music Australia, and $100,000 in cash.

The Voice Australia is filmed at Fox Studios in Sydney and produced by ITV Studios on behalf of Channel Nine.
