TOTAL RADIO

Nine’s talk stations 2GB and 3AW are No.1 across Sydney and Melbourne, with audience growth at 4BC and 6PR, as listeners turn to talk for the big moments and breaking news in their city.

Breakfast with Ross and Russ took the crown in Melbourne with a 18.6 share, and Tom Elliott followed form in Mornings with 16.7.

In Sydney, Ben Fordham Live was the number one Breakfast talk show with a 14.9 share, and Ray Hadley took out his 156th consecutive win in Mornings with 13.5.

Nine Radio’s Head of Content, Greg Byrnes, said: “The events of this week have highlighted the role talk radio plays in people’s lives. On Saturday, as people sought fast and accurate information around the unfolding events in Bondi Junction, the 2GB audience spiked by 40 percent.

“Talk content is relentless but our listeners know they can trust us. That’s the reason 2GB and 3AW are the clear number one in their markets, and it’s why more and more listeners are tuning to 4BC and 6PR. We don’t take the responsibility lightly and thank our audience for its loyalty.”
