Socceroos’ Road To Russia Resumes On Nine
The Socceroos’ World Cup future is on the line when they take on Syria in Malaysia tonight on Nine’s Wide World of Sports.
The winner of the home and away series will progress to the final stage of qualifying for Russia 2018, while the loser will be eliminated.
Syria has never made the World Cup and its campaign is a rare good-news story in a country ravaged by civil war.
But Socceroos’ coach Ange Postecoglou and his men are desperate to keep alive a streak which has seen them contesting the past three World Cup finals.
Wide World of Sports will deliver the two-leg series Live and Free with the first match from 11.00pm AEDT tonight on Nine, before returning to home soil in Sydney on Tuesday, October 10, with coverage from 7.30pm on 9GO!
Former Socceroo Craig Moore joins the Wide World of Sports commentary team for these two vital matches, alongside regular WWOS football expert Michael Bridges and host Clint Stanaway.
“The reaction to the previous World Cup qualifiers broadcast Live and Free on Wide World of Sports made it a no-brainer to continue on with this gripping journey, and we will bring every second of the action to the largest audience when Australia gets behind the Socceroos again.”
