Gold, gold, gold for advertisers as a Total Television audience of 7.8 million Australians watch our Paralympians thrill at Paris 2024
As the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games reaches the halfway point, Team Australia has won the hearts of a nation, with Nine’s broadcast attracting a National TV Reach of 7.8 million over the past five days.
With 9Now contributing 13% incremental reach to Broadcast TV, the Paralympic Games has resulted in 9Now remaining the No.1 CFTA BVOD platform since the Games began on August 29.
The combination of live broadcast, live streaming and on demand television has delivered Nine’s partners, sponsors and major package holders a gold medal performance as our para athletes captivate Australia.
The Paralympic Games is yet another example of the proven power of Total TV to deliver reach at speed for Australian advertisers, with Nine’s broadcast so far attracting a Metro TV Reach of 4.4 million viewers; a Regional TV Reach of 2.4 million and 1.3 million viewers reached via 9Now. To date, the Paralympics has resulted in 9Now recording a total of 97 million views.
With Australia currently ranked sixth on the Medal Tally, the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games has provided heartwarming stories of courage and has created household names out of many para athletes. Day 5 action saw a cavalcade of medals including Gold for Lauren Parker in the Triathlon; Women’s PTWC; and the Swimming Mixed 4x100m Medley Relay featuring an incredible last anchor leg by Alexa Leary which saw the Aussies go from fourth to first.
Meanwhile, Jamieson Leeson and Daniel Michel won Silver in their Boccia finals; Jake Michel won Silver for his 100m Breastroke final and both The Steeler wheelchair rugby team and Javelin Throw F64 Michal Burian won Bronze.
Nine’s Director of Sales – Sports, Matt Granger, said: “The Paralympics has again reinforced the powerhouse of Total Television for audiences and brands. Our independent interim insight report has already shown that the Paris Olympics and now the Paralympic Games, are delivering brand awareness results significantly above any other major event benchmark.”
“With more extraordinary para athlete performances and stories to come, there are more opportunities for our partner brands to benefit from this incredible association within Nine’s coverage of the Paralympic Games.”
