As a child of the 90s, I, like many sports-mad kids, was obsessed with Wide World of Sports. I would sit in front of the TV on weekends and let the hours while away, much to the frustration of my mum, learning about all kinds of sports and feeling the colour and excitement of high-level competition.
We’ll give you the video of the moment that everyone is talking about and tell you why it captured the imagination. We’ll give you the back story of the heroes and the villains – and let’s face it, there’s at least one of each in almost every good sports story. And most of all we give a voice to the experts that call Wide World of Sports home. From Andrew Johns, Allana Ferguson, Billy Slater and Johnathan Thurston to Tim Horan and Morgan Tuinui, Matthew Lloyd and Jimmy Bartel, Jelena Dokic and Dylan Alcott. If they’ve got an opinion on a sports story, you can come to us to get it.
