Nothing stops The Voice
Nothing stops The Voice
The Finals of The Voice are upon us as the show enters uncharted territory with The Playoffs beginning this Sunday at 7.00pm on Nine, and continuing Monday and Tuesday nights at 7.30pm.
When COVID-19 struck the world, many things we love were impacted in a number of ways and The Voice was no exception. But the show, the music, and the voices must go on.
The Voice has made some crucial but exciting changes that promise this season will be one unlike any other in the history of the show.
Two of the superstar Coaches, Kelly Rowland and Boy George, are unable to return to Australia. Instead, utilising the latest innovations in technology, they continue their roles unchanged, LIVE via satellite from studios in LA and London respectively, alongside fellow Coaches Delta Goodrem and Guy Sebastian.
Assisting them as guest mentors will be two Australian music greats from different eras, disco queen Marcia Hines and pop starlets The Veronicas, with the twin sisters also exclusively performing their new hit single Biting My Tongue live during the The Playoffs.
Adhering to government protocols means that for the first time there will be no live audience for the remainder of the show, with the set being redesigned as a result. A virtual crowd will be on hand, consisting of friends, family and of course the fans, to cheer the artists on after every performance.
In The Playoffs, an innovation for The Voice in 2020, artists will be pitted against one another in pairs, each performing a song as part of a theme – including tracks by Tones & I, Dean Lewis and Tina Turner.
After both artists have performed, each Coach will choose a winner from the pairing to continue on to the Showdowns. Once all members of their team have performed, each Coach will then grant one of the unsuccessful artists a second chance, continuing in their team as a “Wildcard”.
Fans won’t want to miss the controversial Finals of the most exciting and unforgettable season of The Voice yet as The Playoffs commence this Sunday, July 5, on Nine and 9Now.
The Voice is produced for Nine by ITV Australia.
