Music from the homefront special encore screening
In a year that has so far provided more than enough heartache, Nine’s inspirational Anzac Day concert Music From The Homefront is a standout moment of unity and captured the great Aussie ‘We’re All In This Together’ spirit.
A special encore of highlights from Music From The Homefront hosted by David Campbell and featuring some of Australia’s greatest acts performing from their homes into your home will be televised on Monday, June 22 at 9.00pm on Nine.
Music From The Home Front brought viewers together in a time of adversity, allowing a moment of respite in these troubled times whilst honouring COVID-19 frontline workers and commemorating Anzac Day. Set up by Michael Gudinski with some help from iconic Australian rocker Jimmy Barnes, an unprecedented line up of more than 50 Australian and New Zealand artists performed.
The encore will include performances by Jimmy Barnes and Ian Moss, Colin Hay and Delta Goodrem, Guy Sebastian, Crowded House, DMA’S, Tones and I, Bliss ‘n Eso and Kate Cebrano, Ben Lee, Birds of Tokyo, James Reyne and Mark Seymour, Dean Lewis, Tim Minchin and Missy Higgins, Paul Kelly and Jess Hitchcock, and Vance Joy.
The encore broadcast coincides with Mushroom Group releasing Music From The Home Front as an album on double CD and digital download (out June 19), with a triple vinyl set being released on July 31.
100% of profits from Music From The Home Front are going to Support Act – Australia’s only charity delivering crisis relief services to artists, crew and music workers as a result of ill health, injury, a mental health problem, or some other crisis that impacts on their ability to work in music. Support Act which was established in 1997 to provide members of the music industry with breathing room to get back on track when they have hit a rough patch.
Nine’s Head of Content, Production and Development, Adrian Swift, said: “Music From The Homefront really captured the mood of so many Australians during Covid lockdown. If we are – as Ben Lee sings- all in this together, then let’s have some fun! We saw some of Australia’s best musicians find new ways to perform our favourite songs and, in the process, lift the mood of the nation, celebrate our Anzac heroes and now support musicians who’ve been hit hard by the nation’s months in lockdown.”
Michael Gudinski, CEO of Frontier Touring and Chairman of the Mushroom Group said: “We had just nine days to pull together Music From the Home Front. A show this big should take months. I am so proud of the results, humbled by the reaction to our incredible musical talent, and now so pleased to bring you this album to commemorate that special night.”
Music From The Home Front an encore special, will screen Monday, June 22 at 9.00pm on Nine and 9Now.
