Survivor: Island Of The Idols
Survivor: Island Of The Idols
Survivor: Island of the Idols, the 39th season of the award-winning adventure reality series Survivor, premieres Thursday, September 26, at 7.30pm on 9Go! and 9Now.
Returning to the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji, Survivor: Island of the Idols features 20 castaways competing for the first time, who will be joined by legendary winners Boston Rob Mariano and Sandra Diaz-Twine, returning to the game as mentors.
Divided into two tribes, the Lairo Tribe and the Vokai Tribe, castaways will have the opportunity to visit the Island of the Idols to learn skills and strategy from real Survivor idols, Rob and Sandra.
“For our 39th season we are bringing back two of our most dominant winners to serve as mentors to a new group of castaways,” said executive producer and host, Jeff Probst. “It’s a Survivor boot camp where each week, players will be instructed on a different facet of the game and then have a chance to test what they’ve learned for a shot at an advantage.”
Each castaway, selected to visit the special island in various ways throughout the season will have to decide whether to put their new knowledge to the test for a chance at a possible advantage in their quest for $1 million, or risk losing something very important in the process.
The new castaways, who include a pro poker player, air force veteran, factory worker, a nanny, a former NHL player and a teacher, will once again be forced to compete with the same ultimate goal: to outwit, outplay and outlast each other and, in the end, be the last one remaining to claim the title of Sole Survivor.
