NRL on Nine: Round 4
Round 3 proved to be another thrilling affair in the NRL with upsets and surprises, and Round 4 of NRL on Nine has more enticing contests on the cards.
In Macca’s Thursday Night Footy tonight, LIVE at 7.30pm AEDT, the Broncos travel to Sydney to meet the Roosters after being pipped by the Dragons in a nailbiter last week. The Roosters are aiming to go two in a row with Cooper Cronk returning, but they lose hooker Jake Friend and prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves to injury, while Brisbane will be without gun centre James Roberts.
Super-elusive James Tedesco, who proved to be the difference for the Roosters against the Eels last week, is up against the wily veteran Darius Boyd in a clash of fullbacks with vastly different styles.
Friday Night Footy is a battle of the bounce-back between the Panthers and Wests Tigers. Penrith’s star halves, James Moloney and Nathan Cleary, are feeling the heat after a lacklustre loss to the Storm. The Tigers, who were bitten by the Bulldogs four days ago, lose five-eighth Benji Marshall to a hamstring injury but gain the unpredictable Josh Reynolds in his place.
On Chemist Warehouse Sunday Footy, the undefeated Melbourne Storm will be wary of the Bulldogs after their stunning form reversal against the Tigers. The Dogs have lost key man Kieran Foran to injury, but their young stars Jayden Okunbor (on debut) and Nick Meaney are in fine form.
Melbourne will field an unchanged lineup, with Cameron Munster in sparkling touch and evergreen captain Cameron Smith playing as well as ever.
