3AW holds its #1 place in key 40-54s advertiser demographic
In what was another stunning result, 3AW recorded an audience share of 20.6% (up 3.7 points) in Survey 7 of the GfK radio ratings, as Melbourne continued to turn to Talk Radio as a trusted source of news and opinion.
3AW has posted its best result since 1959, with allprograms hitting unprecedented ratings figures, including a stunning 29.8% for Breakfast with Ross and Russ. It’s 3AW’s best overall result in decades and shows Melburnians flocked to 3AW for trusted news and companionship in uncertain times.
“We made major changes across the Nine Radio network at the start of the year and the results are proving impressive,” said Greg Byrnes Nine Radio’s Head of Content. “Melburnians flocked to 3AW for trusted news and companionship in tough times.
“Across the day all programs on 3AW have recorded stunning numbers. Ross and Russ’s 29.8% in Breakfast is unprecedented. Neil, Dee Dee, Tom, Denis and their production teams have also posted huge figures, which is testament to their hard work over a difficult six months.”
The station is #1 in Breakfast, Mornings, Afternoons, Drive, Nights and Weekends recording across the board increases. 3AW remains #1 in the key 40-54s advertiser demographic.
The highlights of the survey in Melbourne are:
- After last survey’s record result 3AW Breakfast with Ross Stevenson and Russel Howcroft climbs further, posting a 29.8% share (up 2.4 points) to retain the position of being Melbourne’s #1 Breakfast show. This marks 149 consecutive surveys and a total of 220 wins for 3AW as Melbourne’s #1 Breakfast show.
- Neil Mitchell up 3.3 pointsto 22.7%, remaining the clear #1 in Mornings
- Dee Dee Dunleavy up 3.5 points to 15.5%, remaining #1 in Afternoons
- Tom Elliott up 4.6 points to 19.2%, remaining a clear #1 in Drive
- Denis Walter up 5.3% to 20.4% share remaining #1 in Nights
